Belgium’s leading bi-weekly journal mailed to GPs and specialists and financed by advertising. 26,000 copies are sent out twice a week.
SInce 1960, the Journal du Médecin/Artsenkrant has been the leading provider of medical news. It is for the doctors a newspaper similar to a daily paper for anyone else. Thanks to its frequency and its two specific redactions representing the two Belgian communities, it is the best informed medical medium and therefore the best source of information.
The journal appears twice a week in a standardised format, covering:
- Professional and medical news, international news, readers' letters.
- "Pharma info" : free editorial provided by pharmaceutical companies.
- Articles of general interest : continuous education, informatic issues, economics, social issues affecting doctors in their daily practice.
- JdM/Ak on Tuesdays "management of the Consulting Room", looking into financial and fiscal issues, insurance, transport, medical equipment, computers, legal issues, classified ads, games.
- JdM/AK on Fridays "Section Weekend" : gastronomy, wine, books, theatre, cinema, classified ads, TV programs, cartoons.
- Electronic version of Journal du Médecin/Artsenkrant on Wednesday
