Sydney, Australia, 10^th January 2011 - MIMS Australia has developed iMIMS, an iPhone version of the most trusted Australian Medicines Database which is now available on the Apple App Store.

Margaret Gehrig, National Business Manager from MIMS said: “After the launch of our smartphone app in 2009, our customers asked us to provide an iPhone version that was downloadable onto their iPhones and we recognised this was a need we had to address”

iMIMS is the latest iteration of this trusted information and decision support resource for health professionals. “Listening to our customers has meant we have developed iMIMS to include functionality and content not seen before in mobile products.” said Ms Gehrig.

A major addition is the inclusion of the pill identifier module with over 2500 pill images as well as the full product information (PI), abbreviated PI and Drug Interaction to check for interactions between two or more medications. With monthly updates available for download, end users can be confident they are seeing the most current information available to them. MIMS is about making patient safety the priority in a world of increasing drug complexity.  MIMS decision support tools, at the point of care, assists clinicians to make more informed decisions relating to medication management.
