The origin of most of UBM Medica’s brands is a print journal but many have expanded to provide a range of services including supplements, seminars and events, online resources and custom publishing.

UBM Medica produces a unique portfolio of leading journal brands covering a range of audiences from primary care physicians, secondary care specialists, pharmacists, and healthcare system managers, and as well as some consumer focused titles.

CME
As medical science continues to develop new treatments and payors place a greater focus on clinical outcomes there is a growing need for continuing medical education (CME) and professional development.  UBM Medica’s CME business provides industry-supported, accredited education to select communities of physicians.  Education is delivered through a balanced portfolio of media.

The majority of UBM Medica’s CME activity is in the US where we provide accredited education to medical professionals such as psychiatrists, oncologists and primary care physicians.  The educational programmes offered cover the latest medical advances, treatment options and preventive healthcare methods through a variety of learning formats.  It now caters for large audiences by providing and organizing its own branded events, meetings/discussion groups as well as online, podcast products and e-newsletters.

Our CME business operates separately from the professional media businesses in order to comply with relevant regulations. UBM Medica grants professional credits to physicians for completing CME courses or attending its meetings. All educational programmes are ACCME-accredited and utilize a quality assurance process in compliance with ACCME, OIG and FDA guidelines.  Most of these programmes are supported in part or whole by unrestricted educational grants from pharmaceutical companies.

Our key CME services include: The US Psychiatric and Mental Health Congress, (the second largest psychiatric educational conference in the US), Advances in Primary Care Medicine, Advances in Neurology, Advances in Pediatrics (multi-city one-day event series), Virtual Symposia (online webcasts of key educational sessions sessions from our meetings), and the Oncology e-newsletter updates.
